NAIJ.com learnt that during the meeting, former commissioners were involved in screening of delegates and taking their inventory. The delegates were reportedly called according to their local government areas to line up for a head count after which they were asked to vacate the scene. However, Alhaji Ibrahim Milgoma, the state PDP chairman, when speaking to journalist after the meeting, dismissed suggestion that the gathering had anything to do with Tambuwal’s endorsement. “We gathered our delegates here only to thank them for their support and cooperation during our primaries and the national convention but not to affirm Tambuwal as our candidate for governorship election,” the state chairman said. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Imam was among the 10 governorship aspirants that lost in the recent APC governorship primary. He said: “I earmarked N1 billion for reconstruction of Borno and I intend to contribute it to my state despite losing the primary election. Imam added that he would personally reconstruct central mosques in Bama and Gwoza, provide scholarship to indigent students and offer empowerment support to youth and women in the state.
