China rotates Hong Kong troops as protesters call for democracy

China rotated troops in its People’s Liberation Army garrison in Hong Kong on Thursday, days before protesters planned to hold a march calling for full democracy for the Chinese-ruled city after three months of sometimes violent demonstrations.

China’s military will make even greater “new” contributions to maintaining Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability, state news agency Xinhua cited the People’s Liberation Army garrison in the territory as saying.

Observers estimate the Hong Kong garrison numbers between 8,000 and 10,000 troops split between bases in southern China and a network of former British army barracks in Hong Kong.

  1. Xi' and his political concubine Carrie Lam are terrified that this movements ideals and courage will spread to the mainland and threaten the Communist’s grip on power. They smell Tianamen Sq in the air and know that the Beijing people remember the thousands of students they murdered. They can try to erase this ctrime from history but not from the hearts and minds of the victims families and the millions of other oppressed people whom they terrorize every day.  So proud of brave HK people!  Keep up the pressure,  never give in, you are an inspiration and hero’s to millions around the world

  2. I'm so done with those Hong Kong (drugs patient of Brittany). Violent protesters. This is someone that talks from a 'democratic' country. Get your shit together and accept the fact you are a Chinese. Nothing to shame about, because we all look up to Chinese now.

  4. This is courage inspiring for the generations who labored and sacrificed for HongKong to what it is today. It will be protected from forces attempting to erase the benefits gained. HongKong will remain the home of the peace loving, hard working, smart, intelligent, respected Chinese community.

  5. Now that names have been made public by China, it can be understood to mean that China is giving warning to those concerned that they have document of the situation, they better stop or else the situation would degrade to taking off cloves.

  6. 😱☠️🤐China’s Uighur minority live a dystopian nightmare of constant surveillance and brutal policing. At least one million of them are believed to be living in what the U.N. described as a “massive internment camp that is shrouded in secrecy,” while many Uighur children are taken to state-run orphanages where they're indoctrinated into Chinese customs.
The Uighurs' plight has largely been kept hidden from the world, thanks to China’s aggressive attempts to suppress the story at all costs.
VICE News’ Isobel Yeung posed as a tourist to gain unprecedented access to China’s western Xinjiang region, which has been nearly unreachable by journalists.
She and our crew experienced China’s Orwellian surveillance and harassment first-hand during their time in Xinjiang, and captured chilling hidden-camera footage of eight Uighur men detained by police in the middle of the night. We spoke with members of the Uighur community about their experience in these camps, and about China’s attempts to silence their history and lifestyle under the cover of darkness.

  7. I do FULLY understand the fear of the Hong Kong people of losing their freedom of speech, their democracy and the value of human rights from such a harsh dictatorship like China, because nothing of this exists in that country and NO!…. Humanity will not accept a new Tian An Men massacre, where thounsands of people were slaughtered and 30 years later the chinese government not only forbiding any commemoration of such a massacre, but pretends that this event "never happened"!!That's why I am supporting fully the people of Hong Kong in their movement and should NEVER stop until they get what they want, because ounce they will lose their political and legislative system to China there will be No power on earth that will dare to defy this giant dictatorship, to give back Hong Kong people what they lost ,god forbids! So GO Hong Kong we are with you!!!!

  8. All 7 Million HK residents should march to the police headquarters to demand the entire population be arrested immediately and turn themselves in . Make Police see how stupid they are acting , similar to son of turtle eggs

  9. Hong Kong started chaos with Carrie Lam's introduction of Extradition Bill to China. Since the Extradition Bill movement, Hong Kong started with demonstrations and protests. Carrie Lam was called a Treason of Hong Kong who violated China One Country Two Systems Agreement of the Basic Law Agreement. In order to cover up Carrie Lam's criminal activities. Carrie Lam worked with Hong Kong Police force for violence, riots, and brutalities. China sent 300,000 China PLA garrison army to Hong Kong north border, and China sent another group of China PLA garrison army to Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. According to Hong Kong One Country Two Systems Agreement of the Basic Law, China PLA garrison army cannot enter Hong Kong. However, China cheated the world and Hong Kong people moved the troops from Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge into Hong Kong. China PLA garrison army also infiltrated into Hong Kong police force for more vigorous violence, riots, and brutalities. The infiltrated Hong Kong police cheated the world and Hong Kong people with China PLA garrison amy used outdated teargas in enclosed environments and police/military brutalities. China PLA garrison army moved into Hong Kong already upgraded Hong Kong riots into a Civil War, by definition, China state vs Hong Kong state. Since China PLA garrison army involved into Hong Kong riot as a Civil War, China and Carrie Lam are War Crime Criminals violated the Geneva Convention Agreement for illegal use of lethal weapons and humanity crime with brutalities. China and Carrie Lam also violated the International Tribunal Agreement for War Crime, Aggression Crime, and Humanity Crime under the definitions of the International Tribunal. China cheated the world Hong Kong is in a Civil War for a riot, and China sent China PLA garrison army into Hong Kong violated the China and UK One Country Two Systems Agreement for riot, violence, and military brutality.

  10. Correction : China involve more of their own paramilitary troops as protesters never bow to them and acknowledge their indefinite rule on China and Hong Kong

  11. Fake news msm… Don't believe a word they say…. China is killing hongkong and democracy… Hongkongers standing up for freedom is best example of courage… Free world unite in supporting hongkong

  12. Ghandi would have solved it differently soldiers police dont have a choice this is a bad idea.
    It wont solve anything.
It might be in the hands of the soldiers and police to take tge country back and allow the people to create democracy. Scary situation the soldiers will have to decide who they are fighting for and collectively simultaneously side with the people arresting the rulers and allowing a democracy to form.
Puzzling dilemma much like germany 1940s
