Economic and social activities are grounded in Abakakili, Ebonyi State capital as residents comply with the sit-at-home order by the proscribed secessionist group, the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB.

Though kicked against by the State government, the order is in remembrance of the over 3 million people of the Eastern region who died during the 30 months of the Nigerian civil war.

Reports are that residents of the city, have deserted markets, roads and streets of the State capital in compliance with the directive.

This is even as most shops along the major roads, schools, banks, and fuel stations are closed.
