A human rights group, Save Humanity Advocacy Centre (SHAC), has blamed the Borno State Government over the plight of about 100,000 refugees recently expelled from Cameroon.
Cameroon is currently home to more than 370,000 refugees, including some 100,000 from Nigeria, according to the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). Recently, the Cameroonian government started the eviction of the refugees with a larger proportion of the affected persons being women, children, and persons that are infirm on account of old age, injury or poor health.
