International Women's Day 2020: Women bear the brunt of violence in Cameroon’s Anglophone crisis

The Cameroon Anglophone crisis has resulted in at least 700,000 people being displaced and 3,000 deaths, according to the UN.

Cameroonian singer Olgha wanted to drag the plight of these victims into the limelight with her hit single “Cold” sung in Pidgin English about impact the loss of so many people is having on everyone acorss the region.

RFI’s World Music Matters program features Olgha this week in honour of International Women’s Day 2020. RFI’s Laura Angela Bagnetto has this report:
