  2. This very true articulate video makes it look like the people of southern Cameroon in 1961 were just damned stupid. That's a wrong view. There is simply no country on the map called Ambazonia. The fact is well articulated from the point of self-government in a federation. The idea of independent Ambazonia is in itself based on selfish motives. The arguments that had been rejected by the majority in 1961 for tribal reasons against the former first PM Dr Endeley, are now used as the corner stone for the policies of Ambazonia. What opportunism? If the people of southern Cameroon were very determined to vote for a third option not on the table or force it, why did they not follow Mr PM KALE'S NO vote choice? The answer is very complex one and lies in the intention to maintain a hegemony and monopoly over southern Cameroon. No wonder the dismay in seeing that other people belonging to the Anglophone regions could also benefit the power jealously guarded by the kndp led government of Foncha.
How does this tally with an armed conflict? This is simply opportunism compounded by the brutal action of the Cameroonian armed forces.
What is true ia that during the short period of kndp rule from 1959 there was marginalisation of the minority tribes in southern Cameroon. In an episode in parliament when the then opposition leader Dr Endeley challenged the PM Dr Foncha on this, the pm replied to reinforce the determination to continue the marginalisation. "We the majority tribes cannot reduce our numbers to benefit you the minority tribes. The evidence is that all through the Victoria region we are the majority. You better learn to live with that because we shall never give back power to you". Those words make me think Paul Biya is kid gloved.
