BREAKING NEWS
Soldiers force shopkeepers in Buea to open their shops
In desperation, LRC has ordered the military in Buea to foce shopkeepers open their shops and not respect the ghost town operations. This is done with the open complicity of the colonial mayor of Buea, Mr Ekema Patrick.
It all began yesterday morning when the forces of occupation went to Long Street and started forcing shopkeepers to open their shops. However, their attempt was in vain because the shopkeepers resisted. These colonial soldiers came back in the evening when the ghost towns has ended and began forcing the shop owners to close their shops since they respected the ghost town operations.
Meanwhile, the colonial Mayor of Buea, Mr Ekema Patrick was in the Buea main market also carrying similar operations. He was going round with the DO of Buea and adding locks to those shops which were closed. Some of the shopkeepers who were around the market, pretended to open their shops for the Mayor and DO to past just to lock shops behind them.
This morning, a similar scenario is taking place at Long Street whereby the colonial soldiers are forcing shopkeepers who respected the ghost towns to close their shops. In reality, what these soldiers do is that when they see the shop owners who respected yesterday’s ghost town open their shops, they come and forcefully pack their goods into their shops and threatenly ask them to lock them since they did not open yesterday.
The questions that any conscious thinker should ask are:
– If shop owners refuse to open their shops, how is it affecting the Mayor since these shop owners will still pay their taxes?
How do they know that all the shop owners whose shops were locked were in respect of the ghost town operations?
– Is it a sign of frustration on LRC that we are winning big time?
The people of Buea and South West in general are advised to step up the resistance and continuously keep their children at home, until further notice.
